The DeKalb Library Foundation provides support to DeKalb County Public Library beyond public funding to enrich the lives of DeKalb County citizens through educational, cultural, and literary programs and services.
Tax dollars provide books, staff, and operational expenses. The DeKalb Library Foundation raises approximately $300,000 a year to fund programs and services not covered by tax dollars.
Top three Foundation-funded programs and services:
1. Mobile Hotspot Devices
Wi-Fi hotspots that enable free internet access from home for more than 2,500+ patrons annually.
2. Library Programming
250+ programs for children, teens, and adults, including the Summer Reading Program.
3. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
2,000+ book kits for families to begin their reading journey with babies and young children.
